To communicate necessary information in an appropriate way wherever and whenever it is needed is indispensable to create a safe and secure life environment.
To make our society function more properly, effective communication through a variety of media should be achieved in any situation, such as those where preventive and after-the-fact actions against disasters, crimes and other emergency events are taken; and where we associate with others in our daily lives.
Many possible types of "ROBOT" exist to solve this challenge, and which form is optimal is to be considered. We look forward to many design ideas incorporating new interfaces with such functions as human-like functionality and operational space control.
Many different types of "ROBOT" can be useful for transporting people and goods. These robots need to be both safe and reliable.
Proposals regarding public transportation and other related service systems would also be welcomed.
It is increasingly being required to support socially vulnerable people through the realization of devices that can enhance their body functions or can perform human-like functions.
To solve this challenge, more advanced human interfaces are called for. Meanwhile, it is expected that the proposals for new ideas on information media that support people's activities can make their daily lives more active. "ROBOT" for commercial and public facilities is also eligible for the competition.
